Before starting an import, Voxel Link reads the traffic lights that are displayed in the opening RAM Manager dialog. The four lights examined are GRAVITY beam design, GRAVITY column design, LATERAL analysis and LATERAL STANDARD PROVISIONS design. Typically, all traffic lights should be green. However, there are times when a framing model is needed but the lateral analysis hasn't been identified or fully vetted yet.
To allow imports to process in the early stages of the project, a setting was added (Ignore lateral analysis/design status) to enable the user to ignore the two lateral traffic lights. This has nothing to do with the validity of the design. It is only related to the status of those two lateral modules. In other words, it does not require a complete and/or valid lateral analysis/design to run the importer when the lateral modules are ignored.
Once the lateral analysis gets vetted later in the project, we recommend unchecking this feature so the person importing the RAM model knows both the gravity and lateral designs have been completed.
Also, please see the article "Traffic light != valid design?" for a discussion about traffic lights versus a valid design and how Voxel Links helps identify those issues.
